Course Objectives

This tutorial describes removing and inserting a hard drive in the Gates Library Computer, model E4600.

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Open the computer.
  • Safely work inside the computer.
  • Remove the hard drive from the computer.
  • Pack the hard drive for shipment or properly care for the hard drive after it has been removed from the computer.
  • Insert a hard drive and connect the power and data cables.
